I'm not sure why, but the past month I've been having a really difficult time managing my hypoglycemia. I've gotten advice from everyone under the sun and then some.
I do the small frequent meal thing with as much protein as I can get since this is what all of my doctors have told me.
I also recently purchased a Glucose Monitor to track my blood sugar to know EXACTLY how low it gets and what foods help the most.
The problem is that while the monitor itself was very affordable (around $20 USD) it doesn't come with any test strips. You have to buy them separately and BOY are they EXPENSIVE! For my meter, a pack of 50 test strips costs $72 USD!
Since I can't afford those at this time, I have not yet taken my blood sugar. But I know it's low because I shake all the time. All. The. Time.
The shaking is pretty annoying but when I get to the point that I can't think or function (and that happens daily these days), I feel like I'm going crazy.
So I'm just going to save up for the test strips and monitor which foods seem to help and which don't.
